Ancaster Canadian Reformed Church
Ancaster Canadian Reformed Church believes the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant and sufficient Word of God and the final rule of faith and life, and that we are saved by faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone, to God's glory alone. It has adopted the Apostles', Nicene and Athanasian creeds and the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dort.
Ancaster Canadian Reformed Church was instituted on 5 May 1985 and belongs to Classis Ontario West of the Canadian Reformed Churches. Its church is on Shaver Road in Ancaster.
The congregation meets twice every Sunday, at 9:30 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon, and says that visiting a new church can be intimidating, so it wants visitors to feel welcome. During the week its members meet in smaller groups to pray and study the Bible, and one evening a week is given to catechism classes for its teenagers.
What to expect
The preaching of the Bible is the centre of every service: the morning sermon explains and applies one passage, and the afternoon sermon explains the Bible's teaching gathered from a variety of passages. The congregation sings psalms and other Scripture set to music, prays, and gives an offering for the needy that the deacons distribute.
