Trinity Canadian Reformed Church
Trinity Canadian Reformed Church holds that the 66 books of the Bible are the inspired, infallible, inerrant and sufficient Word of God and the final authority on faith and life. It believes that salvation is God's free gift to all who believe in Jesus Christ, a faith worked by the Holy Spirit, and it subscribes to the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism and the Canons of Dort.
Trinity Canadian Reformed Church was instituted on 26 August 2001, when 157 members of Cornerstone Canadian Reformed Church left to begin a new congregation, and it belongs to Classis Ontario West of the Canadian Reformed Churches. It worshipped first in the gym of Guido de Brès Christian High School, then in the Knox Presbyterian and Binbrook United church buildings in Binbrook, and from 2009 in a former school on Unity Road north of Caledonia.
On 14 August 2022 the congregation held its first services in its new church on Tisdale Road in Mount Hope, built with the help of contractors and many volunteers. Two services are held every Sunday, at 9:30 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon.
What to expect
A service lasts about an hour and a quarter, including a sermon of about thirty minutes; the morning sermon is based on a single Bible text. An usher can give you a Bible and the Book of Praise, the song book of the 150 psalms set to music and 85 hymns. Many members dress in their Sunday best, but the church says that is not a requirement and you are welcome in whatever clothes you are comfortable in.
